UAB Medicine Opens New Medical Building In Hoover

HOOVER, AL — Beginning December 16, patients will have access to a new UAB Medicine health facility in Hoover. The 39,000 square-foot facility is located in Stadium Trace Village.

A release by UAB said The UAB Medicine Hoover Primary and Specialty Care clinic will house a variety of medical specialties to better serve patients in Hoover and southern Jefferson County.

UAB Medicine officials held a ribbon-cutting Tuesday at the new facility, which replaces and expands on the existing UAB Medicine Hoover Primary Care clinic on Highway 150.

In addition to adult primary care, the new clinic will house additional medical specialties, including family medicine for patients of all ages, otolaryngology, OB/GYN and gastrointestinal surgery. The clinic will also have podiatry services, urology, vascular surgery, breast health and oral and maxillofacial surgery, in addition to an injection clinic.

A key partnership will be with UAB Callahan Eye Hospital, with ophthalmologists on-site every day. The facility will also have an optical store.

“UAB has had a medical presence in Hoover for more than 20 years, and we are excited to expand our ability to bring the expertise of UAB Medicine to Hoover and the southern part of Jefferson County,” said Will Ferniany, Ph.D., CEO of the UAB Health System. “Health care today requires enhanced care in outpatient settings with an emphasis on wellness and prevention of disease. Our goal is to bring the skill and experience of our outstanding medical professionals to where people live, and this facility will support those efforts. We look forward to better serving the needs of the Greater Hoover area.”
