Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Huntsville High School and James Clemens dominated the 7A division at the AHSAA Cross Country State Championship. James Clemens made the top five in both the boys and girls teams. The Huntsville High boys took first place in their division, the girls got fifth, and four individual runners made the top five as well. (Boys, Girls)
  2. After the police footage from the shooting of Crystal Ragland was released last week, the Rosa Parks Day Committee is speaking up. They have similar concerns to past events about how officers are trained to handle individuals with mental health issues. (WHNT)
  3. The Mommy and Me organization held a music festival over the weekend to raise money to support single moms in the area. Some of the donations went to a single mother of two to help her continue her education at Alabama A&M. (WZDX)
  4. The Huntsville City Council passed the plan for how to spend the American Rescue Plan Act funds last week. The new plan involves purchasing 21 new fire trucks for the city! (Huntsville)
  5. Alabama A&M beat out Mississippi Valley State in week ten of the football season. They managed to get 405 passing yards and win 42-14. (WHNT)
