- The Decatur City Council decided last night to retroactively issue a State of Emergency for Saturday. This will allow the city to receive federal funding if it becomes necessary to help get things back to normal. (WZDX)
- With the last day to receive the additional $300 with unemployment coming to an end on June 19, small businesses are seeing an increase in calls about job opportunities. Businesses have been struggling to maintain a full staff throughout the pandemic. (WAFF)
- The Huntsville City Council has approved a $1.2 million agreement for construction to Huntsville Animal Services. This is the third and final phase of a renovation plan that allowed the facility to continue to run at full capacity while the construction was going on. (Huntsville)
- Four swimmers from North Alabama are competing right now in Omaha to help secure their spot in the Tokyo Olympics. Kobie Melton, Rebekah Hamilton, Zach Harting, and Andrew Shea are finishing the competition Saturday. (WAAY)
- Huntsville Animal Services is full of animals, and their adoption fee for dogs is only $10 this week (some exclusions)! As usual, these dogs are fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, and with a free bag of dog food. (WHNT)
