The Bishop State Foundation has partnered with 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile to establish the "100 Black Men of Greater Mobile Bishop State Scholars Scholarship Fund." The 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile presented the Bishop State Foundation with a $10,000 donation. The Bishop State Foundation will match the funds with a $5,000 donation to assist students in their second year at Bishop State Community College. Statistics show that students in their final year need more financial assistance to help them in completing their degree programs.

Members of the 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile (Dr. Andre Green- President, Tramaine Perry, Karlos Finley, and Marvin Charles Lue, Jr.) presented the Bishop State Foundation with a check on Friday, June 4, 2021 on the main campus of Bishop State Community College. The Bishop State Foundation Board Chair-Primus Ridgeway, Vice-Chair-Stephanie Lofton Streeter, and Bishop State President Dr. Sykes, and Director of Institutional Advancement, Sherrica Davis-Hunt, were present to accept the donation on behalf of the Foundation.

Students can apply for the 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile Bishop State Scholars Scholarship on the Bishop State Foundation website under the Scholarship page.

The Bishop State Foundation:

The Bishop State Foundation has provided Bishop State Community College with private philanthropic support since 1994, serving as the vehicle through which individuals and organizations may invest in the college and its students.

As an independent 501(c)(3), the Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides funding and resources annually for scholarships, book grants, emergency funds, and other critical needs of the college.
