Alabama Hits Unemployment Low
The rate is down again from October's low of 3.6 percent, and clocks in at nearly half of November 2016's rate of 6.2 percent.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Alabama reported its lowest unemployment rate thus far for the month of November, dropping to a record low of 3.5 percent. The rate is down again from October's low of 3.6 percent, and clocks in at nearly half of November 2016's rate of 6.2 percent.
Shelby County has the lowest rate at 2.6 percent, followed by Marshall and Cullman Counties at 3.0 percent, and Madison, Lee, and Elmore Counties at 3.1 percent.
Vestavia Hills registered the lowest municipal unemployment rate at 2.4 percent, followed by Homewood at 2.5 percent, and Alabaster and Hoover at 2.6 percent.
