Birmingham Bulls Release 2018-19 Season Schedule
The Bulls home opener will be October 19 at the Pelham Civic Complex.
PELHAM, AL - The Birmingham Bulls are getting ready to start their second season in Pelham in the fall with the announcement and release of the team's home schedule for the 2018-2019 season.
The first home game will be October 19. Times for the games have yet to be listed. The Bulls drew more than 60,000 fans to their home games in their first season in Pelham, and narrowly missed a playoff birth.
The 2017-18 season was the first for the Bulls in Pelham, after a 16-year absence from the Birmingham metro. Hockey has been in Birmingham since the 70s when the World Hockey Association formed and granted Birmingham a franchise. When the league merged with the NHL in 1978, Birmingham was left out of the mix, and dropped down to minor league status, becoming a farm team to the Minnesota North Stars (calling the team the Birmingham South Stars). When that team left, the Bulls of the East Coast Hockey League came to town and stayed for almost a decade before moving to Atlantic City after the 2000-2001 season.
