Bulls At Home For Final Two Games Of Season
The Birmingham Bulls will finish out their first season in Pelham this weekend with their final two games.

PELHAM, AL - The Birmingham Bulls will finish their first season in Pelham this weekend with two home games in the Pelham Civic Complex. The Bulls will play Macon Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and then host Huntsville Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Bulls are 22-27 for the season, but got hot in February and March to make a late-season playoff run before falling short down the stretch. Birmingham had climbed the Southern Professional Hockey League standings to a playoff spot before dropping six straight games. The Bulls had won 10 of 12 games before the late season skid.
Birmingham owed much of its inaugural season success to its home ice advantage, posting a 15-10-1 record at the PCC.

The 2017-18 season was the first for the Bulls in Pelham, after a 16-year absence from the Birmingham metro. Hockey has been in Birmingham since the 70s when the World Hockey Association formed and granted Birmingham a franchise. When the league merged with the NHL in 1978, Birmingham was left out of the mix, and dropped down to minor league status, becoming a farm team to the Minnesota North Stars (calling the team the Birmingham South Stars). When that team left, the Bulls of the East Coast Hockey League came to town and stayed for almost a decade before moving to Atlantic City after the 2000-2001 season.
