Christmas Tree Lighting Event To Be Held Nov. 29 At PCC

Tonight's Christmas tree lighting will feature music, games and family events at the Pelhan Civic Complex.

PELHAM, AL - Holiday time is here, and the City of Pelham has its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony planned for tonight at the Pelham Civic Complex. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Participants can enjoy music, cookies and cocoa, ice skating and a visit with Santa at the event, which lasts until 9 p.m. Guests will enjoy holiday music from the Pelham High School Jazz Band as they enter the venue, and members of the Beautification Board will pass out 1,000 Christmas ornaments.

Inside the Main Arena guests will be treated to Christmas Music from the children in the community representing the local schools. Members of the Pelham Mite Under 8 Division will showcase their skills, and students from the Pelham Skate School and the Birmingham Figure Skating Club will dazzle with performances on the ice.

Santa Claus will be available for the youngest residents from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and returns for visits after the Pelham Community Christmas Tree Lighting beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. The Pelham High School Culinary Arts Program will provide cookies and cocoa in the ballroom with Christmas music provided by Blaze Entertainment. Be sure to bring a camera to capture visits with Santa.

Both ice rinks will feature free ice skating from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The Pelham Community Christmas Tree Lighting is free to the public and sponsored by the City of Pelham and the Beautification Board.
