Commander of Drug Enforcement Task Force Graduates FBI Academy

Lieutenant Clay Hammac has graduated from the 270th session of the FBI National Academy last Friday, Dec. 15.

SHELBY COUNTY, AL — Last Friday, Dec. 17, Lt. Clay Hammac of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office graduated from the FBI National Academy’s 270th session. Lt. Hammac made it through almost three months of grueling physical and academic training along with his 200 or so classmates.

According to a press release from the SCSO, he was awarded the prized possession of a painted yellow brick with his session number once he completed the 6.1 mile obstacle course, often referred to as the Yellow Brick Road, which is the final physical portion of the Academy’s 11 weeks. Hammac was also awarded a Tri-Athlete award for his performance in finishing a biking and rowing challenge, which were 270 and 34 miles respectively.
