Helena Police Search For Car Theft Suspect

Helena police have identified a suspect in a car theft from July 15, but do not have him in custody.

HELENA, AL — The Helena Police Department has identified a man they say was involved in the theft of a vehicle Monday. Helena investigators obtained warrants Tuesday in the robbery case against 20-year-old Montrey Cave .

The Helena PD issued a statement on social media saying that Cave is not currently in custody, but was identified via security footage from the Marathon station on Highway 52.

Cave was last seen in a silver Jeep Cherokee possible driven by a white female. The vehicle has a front plate with a circular logo on it and a sticker of some sort on the lower center of the back glass.

Police say it’s unknown if the driver of the Jeep was a participant in the robbery. Anyone with information regarding Cave’s whereabouts should call call Helena police at 205-663-6499.
