Local Restaurant Owner Dies Of Heart Attack
Walter Caron, owner of Nino's restaurant in Pelham, died over the weekend from a massive heart attack.

PELHAM, AL - A prominent Pelham restaurant owner and chef died Friday. Walter Caron, owner of Nino's Italian restaurant, suffered a massive heart attack, according to a statement from his family. Caron owned Nino's with Alabama sportscaster Eli Gold.
A post on the restaurant's Facebook page reads: "It is with great sadness that we announce that Walter Caron has passed away on February 8, 2019. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved all his customers and the community dearly. We will endeavor to stay open during this very difficult time for the Nino's family. With love to our extended Nino's community, Chris Caron, Eli Gold and the Nino's family"

Funeral arrangements have been set for Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Charter Funeral Home in Calera. Public viewing will be from 4-6 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 6 p.m. Charter Funeral Home is located at 2521 U.S. 31.
