New Pelham Recreation Center Opening Friday
The new Pelham Recreation Center will open Friday with a ribbon cutting and tours of the facility.

PELHAM, AL - The newly-constructed Pelham Recreational Center is ready to open, as Friday marks the day the much-anticipated center will open its doors. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday at 5:45 p.m. Residents can tour the facility after the ceremony to see what the 38,000-square foot center has to offer. The center has been under construction since January of 2017, and cost just under $6 million to build.
Features of the new facility include a regulation size basketball court, weight room, locker rooms, a conference room, classrooms for dance and fitness classes and several outdoor amenities such as basketball and sand volleyball courts, a dog park and pavilion. The city has hired six fitness instructors offering a variety of fitness classes at the facility.
Hours of operation for the rec center will be 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-6 p.m. on Sundays. The cost of membership is $10 per month for one person and $20 per month for a family. Membership is reserved for Pelham residents only.
