New Piggly Wiggly Opening In Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, AL - A new Piggly Wiggly grocery store is set to open in Shelby County this fall, making it the 13th Piggly Wiggly location in the Birmingham metro area.

The new store will be located at 1324 Dunnavant Valley Road in the new Dunnavant Valley shopping center, according to a report by the Birmingham Business Journal.

Plans for the grocery store started in the fall of 2013, according to owner Naseem Ajlouny, but at that time the area could not support a new grocery store.

The new store will include a deli counter, fresh seafood, local products and a large craft beer and wine section, and will be part of the Shipt grocery delivery options.
