Shelby County Man Arrested And Charged With Sex Crimes
A man from Vincent was charged with eight counts of sexual misconduct involving a young girl.
SHELBY COUNTY, AL - A 38-year-old man from Vincent has been arrested and charged with eight sex crimes involving a girl under the age of 12. Robert Jay Wilson was arrested Monday and charged with four counts of first-degree sodomy, three counts of sex abuse of a child under the age of 12 and one count of first-degree rape.
A report by WBRC in Birmingham said the alleged abuse happened between June 11, 2011 and Dec. 31, 2013. Wilson is accused of “touching, kissing and rubbing” the young girl, as well as having deviate sexual intercourse and intercourse with her.
Wilson was booked into the Shelby County Jail Monday and remains held on $195,000 bond. A court date has not yet been set.
