Shelby County Prostitution Sting Nets 13 Arrests
Law enforcement in Shelby County netted 13 arrests in "Operation Closeout, Round 4," a prostitution sting.

SHELBY COUNTY, AL - The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force reported that 13 arrests were made in last week's "Operation Closeout, Round 4," a prostitution sting operation. The operation is a continuation from two stings in the fall of 2018 and February of 2019 in which a total of 46 offenders have been arrested.
"The purpose of these operations is to aggressively pursue patrons of the sex-trafficking industry, which is directly connected to human trafficking," said a statement by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

- Christopher Brooks (49) of Moody
- Kelvin Carter (27) of Chelsea
- Miller De Ramus (70) of Vincent
- Eugene Fleece (67) of Birmingham
- Jerry Galloway (49) of Chelsea
- Francisco Galvan (38) of Pelham
- Shawn Morris (43) of Pleasant Grove
- Jeffrey Palmer (51) of Birmingham
- John Peacock (54) of Birmingham
- Balakris Hnan Ravikumar (62) of Birmingham
- Matthew Robins (30) of Berry
Each defendant listed was charged with the crime of soliciting prostitution.
