Shelby County Sheriff's Office Makes Meth Bust

SHELBY COUNTY, AL - The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force recently raided a known distribution location for methamphetamine in Columbiana. Narcotics investigators seized trafficking weights of crystal meth, in addition to GHB, prescription pills, marijuana, and assorted firearms.

During the early morning hours of Thursday April 25, narcotics investigators and the Shelby County Tactical Response Unit executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of Egg and Butter Road in Columbiana. Undercover operations identified the residence as a point of distribution of methamphetamine for southwest Shelby County.

Four individuals were arrested and charged with drug offenses.

• David Roberson, 44, was charged with two counts of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Chemical Endangerment of a Child, Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Roberson was on probation for previous charges of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
• Jona Jones, 38, was charged with two counts of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Chemical Endangerment of a Child, Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
• Timothy Blankenship, 38, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
• Jeremy Lawley, 33, charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

These individuals remain in the Shelby County Jail at the time of this release, and narcotics investigators anticipate additional charges of additional suspects to follow.
