ALDOT To Close Lanes At McFarland and University Blvd. Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, AL. — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) on Friday announced it will conduct a geotechnical investigation in the median of U.S. Highway 82 at University Boulevard on Sunday that will see the flow of traffic impacted.

ALDOT says the Highway 82 eastbound inside lane and westbound inside lane will be closed Sunday from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m., before saying motorists should expect possible delays.

A geotechnical investigation is in preparation for the University Boulevard bridge replacement project in conjunction with the city of Tuscaloosa. The project is tentatively set to begin in 2022.
