Bond Denied For Brent Sexual Abuse Suspect With Tuscaloosa Ties
Kenneth Shane Duncan was arrested June 15 and charged with sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old.

BRENT, AL — Three people have been charged after a child informed her mother and police that she was sexually abused in a store parking lot in Brent earlier this month. What's more, the man accused of the abuse has connections to Tuscaloosa and could be facing dozens upon dozens of other charges once the investigation concludes.
The Brent Police Department says Brent resident Kenneth Shane Duncan, 20, was arrested June 15 and charged with sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old. Investigators say Duncan was viewed on surveillance cameras in the parking lot of Duncan Treasures — a business on Main Street in Brent that is owned by Duncan's parents — approaching a vehicle that had a young child inside.
BPD went on to say the mother of the child returned from Duncan Treasures and the child informed her that Duncan had touched her inappropriately.

Duncan was initially given a $1 million bond, but after an initial court appearance, his bond was denied. Additionally, probable cause also led to the arrests of Brent residents Jeremy Shane Duncan and Jerrie Michelle Duncan, who were charged with aggravated child abuse, child abuse and child endangerment.
The two other suspects saw their bonds set at $162,000 each.
