Cottondale Search Warrant Results In Drug Trafficking Arrests

Two people are facing numerous drug charges after police executed a search warrant on Avalon Drive in Cottondale on Wednesday

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A man and woman are facing numerous drug charges following a month-long investigation by West Alabama Narcotics Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

While more arrests are expected in the case, police say Carl Billy Wade Kizziah Jr., 47, and Angie Brothers, 45, were both present Wednesday when agents served a search warrant in the 1500 block of Avalon Drive in Cottondale.

The Task Force says investigators seized 114 grams of methamphetamine and 4.8 grams of a heroin/fentanyl mixture. Police also reportedly recovered two and a half hydrocodone pills, a gram of marijuana and three sets of digital scales.

Kizziah is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking heroin and two counts
of failure to affix a tax stamp. His bond was set at $500,000 for each trafficking charge and $15,000 for each tax stamp charge, totaling $1,030,000.

Brothers is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin and failure to affix a tax stamp. Her bond is set at $30,000 for the distribution charge and $5,000 each for the heroin possession and tax stamp charges, coming out to a total $40,000.

The Task Force says additional federal charges against both are forthcoming.
