DCH Hits Lowest Coronavirus Inpatient Total Since May 2020
The coronavirus situation continues to improve locally as inpatient totals and the number of new cases have sustained their downward trends.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — DCH Health System reported its lowest total of coronavirus hospitalizations since last spring on Wednesday. Here's a look at the numbers:

- Down from 46 hospitalizations two weeks ago (Feb. 18)
- Down from 106 over the previous month.
- Lowest total since May 14, 2020.
- ICU patients: 6 (down from 27 over last month)

- Tuscaloosa County added 51 total coronavirus cases to its overall total on Thursday, which now stands at 24,340 confirmed and probable cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
- More vaccine sites are coming online across the metro area, with the the Tuscaloosa VA Hospital now vaccinating veterans 55 years old and older in its Ambulatory
- To date, approximately 1,110 veterans have been vaccinated through the Tuscaloosa VA.
- Tuscaloosa County EMA is working to get those in the community registered to receive their vaccine from DCH.
