Jerry Tingle Activity Center Serving Free Lunches To Veterans

The Jerry Tingle Center on Highway 216 in McCalla will host a lunch in honor of military veterans on Tuesday to celebrate Veterans Day.

McCALLA, AL. — The Jerry Tingle Activity Center in McCalla will commemorate Veterans Day a day early on Tuesday by hosting a lunch to feed and honor those who served in the United State Armed Forces.

The free lunch event will begin today at 11 a.m. and last until 1 p.m. The center says its staff will be serving different kinds of soup, salad, desserts and more.

"We hope to see you there, and we are very thankful for the sacrifices you made to serve our country and to ensure our freedom," the Jerry Tingle Activity Center said in a statement.

The center is located at 21973 Highway 216, McCalla, 35111 and the event will be held in the community room.

Other Tuscaloosa County Veterans Day events are also scheduled for Wednesday, including a drive-in celebration at Veterans Memorial Park and a food box giveaway at VFW Post 6022 in Cottondale.
