TUSCALOOSA, AL. — The Alabama Department of Transportation says McFarland Boulevard under the Interstate 20/59 bridge will be closed in both directions beginning Friday and lasting through the weekend.
The closures, which will last from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, will allow the contractor to paint bridge girders, install lighting and place traffic signal brackets on the bridge over McFarland Boulevard at Exit 73. The work is part of the adding lanes and bridge replacement project from near Exit 73 to near Exit 77 that ALDOT said is intended to improve safety, mobility and commerce.
ALDOT says law enforcement will be on site to assist with traffic and all interstate lanes will remain open.
