TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA) is seeking volunteers for this weekend's Dixie Youth Baseball tournament at Bowers Park, which is expected to draw hundreds of people to the complex.

The Alabama Dixie Youth Baseball Division II State Tournament is slated for June 25-28 at Bowers Park, featuring a total of 48 teams — some from the West Alabama area. Winners during the four-day event will advance to the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series in August.

PARA Community Outreach Director Jay Logan told Patch that volunteers will be needed to accommodate for over 2,000 families, along with score keeping and the PARA VIP hospitality team during the four-day tournament.
