NORTHPORT, AL — While flooding and damage was reported across the Tuscaloosa metro, one of the places hardest-hit could be found on Hunter Creek Road at Willowbrook Trailer Park, where the nearby creek caused extensive damage and resulted in numerous swift-water rescues.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported in Northport overnight, including at Willowbrook Trailer Park. However, when the sun came up on Sunday, extent of the destruction became visible as more than a dozen homes were damaged — several of which were total losses.

One resident saw their mobile home completely crumble under the pressure from flood waters and told Patch they had no choice but to wait out the storm to be rescued. Other residents could be seen Sunday morning traversing the heavy layer of mud and silt brought on dry land by the nearby creek, picking up debris and going through their flooded homes.
