Preliminary Damage Survey Suggests EF-1 Tornado Hit Moundville
Here's the latest on a series of storms that spawn destructive tornadoes that luckily did not result in any injuries in west Alabama.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The National Weather Service forecast office in Birmingham speculates that an EF-1 tornado was responsible for damage caused in Moundville Wednesday, before crossing into southern Tuscaloosa County.
Tuscaloosa County was placed under two separate tornado warnings Wednesday, with only tree damage and minor structure damage reported in the southern part of the county.
NWS investigators were in the field Thursday gathering information to understand the track and scope of the storm. In its preliminary findings, it's reported that winds from the tornado reached 110 mph. Damage surveys were expected to continue Thursday.

While thousands did lose electricity across the state at different points, a total of 55 Alabama Power customers were without power as of the publication of this story, while 679 customers in Tuscaloosa remained in the dark.
No injuries have been reported from the storms, but the following locations in Tuscaloosa County saw power lines impacted, particularly in the areas of South Rosser Road, Lake Wildwood Drive, Highway 82 East and Bradley Road.
