Severe Weather Possible For Tuscaloosa County On NYE
The National Weather Service forecast office in Birmingham says much of the state could see damaging winds and the possibility of tornadoes.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — New Year's Eve is this Thursday and will bring with it the threat of severe weather for much of Alabama, according to the latest update from the National Weather Service forecast office in Birmingham.

Tuesday morning's update places most of Tuscaloosa County in the slight risk area, with tornadoes possible and damaging winds up to 60 mph. Current models show the timetable for severe weather will be 9 p.m. Thursday through 8 a.m. Friday.

The NWS on Tuesday also pointed out it has adjusted the slight risk area and timing continues to trend slower regarding the potential for severe storms on New Year's Eve.
