Shelton State Standouts Named Honorable Mention All-Americans
The two former Hillcrest High Patriots were key contributors in the Bucs 2021 NJCAA World Series run and ACCC Tournament championship.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — After the conclusion of a memorable 2021 baseball season that culminated with the school's fifth appearance at the NJCAA World Series, two Shelton State Community College standouts received even more postseason recognition.
On Thursday, the school announced that freshman pitcher Garrett McMillan and sophomore catcher Colby Smelley were both named 2021 Honorable Mention All-Americans by the NJCAA Baseball Committee. Both Bucs are products of Hillcrest High School and played crucial roles in helping Shelton State advance to JUCO baseball's biggest stage.
The Bucs (40-17) ultimately finished 1-2 in the NJCAA World Series, but not without Smelley and McMillan both logging notable performances and making the All-Tournament Team in Grand Junction, Colorado.
