Shelton State's 'Here Comes Santa Claus' To Benefit Local Groups

Shelton State Community College will host its 10th annual Christmas fundraising drive to benefit local groups.

TUSCALOOSA, AL. — The ongoing coronavirus pandemic will not be enough to stop Shelton State Community College (SSCC) from raising funds during the holiday season to benefit local groups. The 10th annual holiday donation drive, "Here Comes Santa Claus," will kick off Monday, Nov. 30 and last until Friday, Dec. 11.

One change due to the pandemic will see only monetary donations accepted this year, with the total donation amount divided equally among SSCC's traditional list of participating agencies.

The groups include the following West Alabama organizations: Caring Days, FOCUS on Senior Citizens, Phoenix House, Tuscaloosa's One Place, Turning Point, Five Horizons, Veteran's Outreach, and the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter.

SSCC says "Here Comes Santa Claus," which is in cooperation with United Way and sponsored by Shelton State ambassadors, provides opportunities for the SSCC community to work with local service providers in offering assistance to those in need.

Credit or debit card donations can be made over the phone by calling the Martin Campus cashier’s office at (205) 391-2335. Cash donations can also be made in-person in the cashier’s office on both SSCC campuses.
