StoryWalk Concept Coming To Tuscaloosa River Walk In April

The effort is the latest initiative to promote the area's parks while also promoting the services of the Tuscaloosa Public Library.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Public Library and University of Alabama College of Human Environmental Sciences will collaborate with Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA) for Tuscaloosa StoryWalk. The burgeoning StoryWalk-trademarked concept will see laminated pages from a children’s picture book displayed along an outdoor path, with directions along the way to lead participants to the next page of the story.

The kickoff event for the city's first StoryWalk will be April 10 at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Tuscaloosa River Walk, beginning on the south side of the Tuscaloosa River Market.

PARA says the event is free and open to the public, before pointing out that other locations are being developed for permanent StoryWalk trails in parks throughout the county
