Tuscaloosa Arch Welding Prompts Lane Closures This Weekend
ALDOT says traffic will be impacted Friday through Sunday as the contractor performs welding on the arch over Interstate 20/59.
TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) on Wednesday announced lane closures to allow the contractor to perform welding on the new arch above Interstate 20/59 at Exit 73 in Tuscaloosa this weekend.

The McFarland Boulevard westbound lanes directly under the interstate will close Friday, March 5 at 11 p.m. until Saturday, March 6 at 9 a.m., while the McFarland Boulevard eastbound lanes directly under the interstate will close Saturday, March 6 at 11 p.m. until Sunday, March 7 at 9 a.m.

Motorists can expect delays and are encouraged to use Skyland Boulevard, Interstate
359 or other alternate routes.
