Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Responds To Blaze At Recycling Plant

Firefighters responded to a large blaze at a Tuscaloosa recycling plant Monday evening and quickly had the fire under control.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue responded to a large fire at Temerson & Sons Recycling Monday evening and quickly had the blaze under control. The recycling facility is located at 2664 24th Street in south Tuscaloosa.

While no injuries resulted from the fire, which was reported on social media at approximately 6 p.m., a large plume of thick black smoke could be seen for miles around the Tuscaloosa metro into the evening hours.

Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue informed local media that the fire was caused by a shredder at the plant.
