Tuscaloosa To Host Live Tree Recycling, Holiday Garbage Dropoff
Between Dec. 26 and Jan. 8, live trees, wreaths, and garlands may be dropped off to be recycled at the Curry Environmental Services facility

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The city of Tuscaloosa announced this week it will host Christmas tree recycling and a staffed holiday garbage drop-off event over the weekend following the holiday.
The city said between Dec. 26 and Jan. 8, 2021, those in the community can drop off live trees, wreaths, and garlands to be recycled at the Curry Environmental Services facility, located at 3440 Kauloosa Avenue.

Officials says greenery must be completely free of decorations and lights, with a separate bin available for recycling Christmas lights.
The following day, on Sunday, Dec. 27 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the city will host a staffed holiday garbage drop-off event at the same location.

Along with holiday garbage, city officials encouraged citizens to bring their recycling to deposit in the recycling containers on site. This event will be contactless and face-coverings are required.
