Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter Lowering Rates For Adoption Event
The Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter will reduce adoption fees from Oct. 1-4 in an effort to find forever homes for its many pets.

TUSCALOOSA, AL. — As part of an effort across 33 states, the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter will reduce its adoption fees from Oct. 1-4 to help to find forever homes for pets currently living in the shelter.
The initiative is made possible by the Bissell Pet Foundation (BPF), which announced its partnership with 160 shelters to reduce adoption fees during its Empty the Shelters (ETS) effort.
During Empty the Shelters, those interested in adoption can expect to pay $25 or less. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, along with the recent hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast, BPF says it is offering more assistance to shelters than ever before, with the latest installment of Empty the Shelters being its sixth of the year.

BPF says all animals included in the Empty the Shelters promotion will be microchipped and spayed/neutered to prevent further pet homelessness. BPF will also honor foster-to-adopt cases beginning Oct 1-4 and are finalized up to one week after the event.
Empty the Shelters has helped 40,550 shelter pets find homes since the program’s inception in 2016.
