TUSCALOOSA, AL — New data from the Alabama Department of Labor shows that a total of 22,397 claimants in Tuscaloosa County received $204,910,353 in federal and state unemployment payouts during 2020 — a financial year marred by a sharp, pandemic-induced economic downturn.
