Child Pornography Arrests Made In Northport, Tuscaloosa
The West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force announced two unrelated arrests for child pornography following a multi-agency investigation.
TUSCALOOSA, AL — The West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force announced the unrelated arrests of two men Thursday on multiple charges of possessing and disseminating child pornography.
The Task Force says Eugene B. Thomas, 67, of Northport, was charged with seven counts of possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 involved in obscene acts.
Thomas is also charged with three counts of dissemination of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17. His total bond was set at $195,000 and he remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

In a separate investigation, Tuscaloosa resident Kelvin Deon Jones, 44, was charged with five counts of possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons younger than 17. He is also being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with bond set at $175,000.
Both investigations are ongoing, with further charges possible against each defendant. The investigations were also conducted with assistance from the Joint Electronic Crimes Task Force at the University of Alabama and the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
