WINTER STORM: Major Highways Open Across Tuscaloosa County
Here is an updated look at impacted roads across the Tuscaloosa metropolitan area.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Snow and ice accumulated overnight across Tuscaloosa County and we will be providing updates throughout the day as temperatures are expected to stay below freezing for most of the day.

9:30 A.M. — Despite overnight ice accumulation for Northport, officials believe road conditions will have improved by 10 a.m., allowing for the city's garbage trucks to run normal routes. Snow was still lightly falling as of 9:30 a.m. with a temperature of 18 degrees.

Tuscaloosa County EMA said bridges at Lurleen Wallace Boulevard McFarland Boulevard are all passable, along with the Paul Bryant Bridge at State Route 297.
However, ALDOT recommends citizens remain off the roadways until conditions improve.

In terms of new closures and cancellations, the University of Alabama announced this morning that it would cancel classes and operations Tuesday, while Tuscaloosa City Schools said its regular Board of Education meeting set for Tuesday had been canceled.

7 A.M. — As of Tuesday morning, no damage reports have been filed for Tuscaloosa County with the NOAA Storm Prediction Center, while Alabama Power reports a total of 13 Tuscaloosa County customers without power.

- Highway 171 at Old Moore's Bridge Road.
- Highway 171 at Mormon Road and County Road 35.
- Highway 43 at Old Fayette Road.
- Highway 43 at County Road 38
- Highway 69 at Turkey Creek Road.
- Highway 69 at Goodwater Drive and Northside Road.
- Highway 69 at Guy Road.
- Highway 69 at Mitt Lary Road.
- Highway 69 at Sherman Bolton Road.
- Interstate 359 northbound before MP2
