20-Year Vestavia Police Veteran Retires
Officer Scott Summerlin retired from the Vestavia Hills Police Department Nov. 30 after 20 years of service.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — The Vestavia Hills Police Department announced that 20-year veteran Scott Summerlin retired from the department Nov. 30.
Summerlin joined the department in August of 1999 in the patrol division, and later became a School Resource Officer at Vestavia Hills Central and at Vestavia Hills High School.
The Vestavia Hills PD issued a statement via social media wishing Summerlin well in his retirement. "We will truly miss you, 'Blue.' We wish you all the best," the department said.
