City Settles Lawsuit With Patchwork Farms Neighbors
The Vestavia Hills City Council voted to settle a lawsuit involving a complaint as a result of development at Patchwork Farms.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - The Vestavia Hills City Council agreed this week to settle a lawsuit with residents who filed a complaint last year involving the Patchwork Farms development. The settlement was for $50,000.
The lawsuit, which was filed last March in the Jefferson County Circuit Court, alleges that the development at Patchwork Farms, specifically the Vestavia Reserve apartment complex, violated the original development agreements and has caused significant harm to property values and quality of life for residents on Old Looney Mill Road.
According to a report by the Vestavia Voice, the complaint was filed against the city, Daniel Corp. and NSH Corp or Signature Homes. Several motions were filed on behalf of the city and the other defendants to dismiss the case, but Circuit Court Judge Elisabeth French declined those requests and set the trial for the spring of 2019.
