Interim Superintendent Mason Gives Recommendation For Gresham
The plan is contingent on the board's approval, as well as the approval of the Gresham purchase from a federal judge.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — As Vestavia Hills finalizes its purchase of Gresham Elementary, the Board of Education is in the process of finalizing a plan for its use, and how the school will fit into the system. Interim Superintendent Charles Mason announced in a video Wednesday his recommendation for the restructuring of the district.
Mason has recommended Option 9, which entails the establishment of a freshman campus, a plan that was discussed in a community meeting weeks prior to the announcement. Vestavia's ninth would be taken out of the high school, which was already intended to occur in April, and be moved to the former Pizitz camoys, with Berry becoming a 6-8 middle school and the Gresham campus accommodating a new elementary school.
The plan is now contingent on the board's approval, as well as the approval of the Gresham purchase from a federal judge.
