BIRMINGHAM, AL — One of the first restaurants in The Summit shopping center has closed. Johnny Rockets announced it has closed its Summit location, after more than two decades at the shopping center. This follows the closing of Zoe's Kitchen earlier this year at The Summit.

As stated in a Birmingham Business Journal report, despite the recent closings, the shopping center has seen other restaurants open in the Summit over the last year, including Shake Shack, which has a similar menu to Johnny Rockets.

Johnny Rockets, which was located near the AMC movie theater and Bed Bath & Beyond, specializes in shakes, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more in a 1950s diner.
