Loss Drops Rebels Out Of Top 10

Vestavia Hills lost a heartbreaker to Mountain Brook, and looks to rebound this week against Shades Valley.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Vestavia's stay in the Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings was short-lived, as the Rebels enter this week's game against Shades Valley unranked. Vestavia lost a heartbreaker to rival Mountain Brook to fall out of the top 10 in this week's rankings.

The 3-1 Rebels entered the top 10 for the first time this season last week, and looked to have the game against Mountain Brook under control, getting an early 7-0 lead. But the Spartans stormed back to score 14 unanswered points in a game that could have gone either way in the closing quarter.
