Pedestrian Hit At Busy Cahaba Heights Intersection

The incident has Cahaba Heights residents anxious for improvements on Crosshaven Drive.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Cahaba Heights residents are concerned about pedestrian safety after another incident at Overton Road and Crosshaven Drive. CBS 42 reported that a car hit a pedestrian last week at the highly trafficked intersection.

Vestavia Hills City Manager Jeff Downes told CBS 42 that the city plans to alleviate traffic along the road in the near future. The plan entails adding sidewalks and expanding Crosshaven to three lanes from the Summit to Overton Road.

The project's completion date is currently unknown. Mountain Brook and Jefferson County will assist in the project, which is expected to cost around $5 million.
