Public Input Sought On Wald Park Construction In Vestavia Hills

The survey will be open to the public until Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at 4 p.m. CST.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Progress on Phase 3 of the Wald Park construction project is getting ready to get underway, according to Vestavia Hills city officials.

Bids on the work for this latest phase, which will include a tennis facility, is anticipated to take place sometime in January 2021, city officials said.

Prior to the bid, city council wants the public's input on the amenities that are being considered.

Residents can complete a short survey online at this link. The survey will be open until Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at 4 p.m. CST.

Although Wald Park, located at 1973 Merryvale Rd., remains under construction, it is nearing completion, according to city officials.

In addition to open green space, the newly renovated Wald Park will feature multiple baseball field (including a Miracle League Field), a walking track, aquatic complex (including competition and leisure pools), picnic areas, a dog park, walking trails, tennis complex and community playgrounds.
