Rebels Enter ASWA Top 10 After 2-0 Start
Vestavia Hills cracked the Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings for the first time this season

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - The VEstavia Hills football team is off to a 2-0 start, and the Alabama Sports Writes Association has taken notice. The Rebels entered the Class 7A rankings for the first time this season, coming in at No. 10 in the polls.
The Rebels beat Spain park Friday 28-21, scoring with less than a minute to go in the game. Vestavia defeated Class 6A powerhouse Homewood in its first game, which helped garner the Rebels some votes last week, but win number two apparently meant the voters could not keep the Rebels out of the Top 10.
Playing in Region 3 in Class 7A will prove to be a daunting task this season, as five of the ASWA 7A Top 10 teams are in that region. (For more updates on high school sports and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Patch morning newsletter.)
