Rebels Enter Top 10 For The First Time This Season
Vestavia Hills is undefeated thus far in the 2019 football season, and the Alabama Sports Writers Association has taken notice.
VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Vestavia defeated Tuscaloosa County last week to improve to 3-0 on the season, and the Alabama Sports Writers Association has taken notice. The Rebels are now ranked in the ASWA top 10 for the first time this season.
The Rebels rolled past TCHS 45-16 Friday night on the strength of stellar defensive and special teams play, notching to takeaways and a blocked punt.
The win propelled the Rebels to a no. 10 ranking in this week's ASWA poll. However, a rivalry match-up this week with Mountain Brook — also undefeated after a win over Spain Park last week — will have significant implications in the playoff race.
