Rebels Fall To 10th In ASWA Poll

After a loss to Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills fell from 8th to 10th in the most recent rankings.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - After a loss to rival Mountain Brook, Vestavia remained in the Alabama Sports Writers Association top 10, but fell two spots to 10th in the most recent poll. The Rebels fell to the Spartans 28-14 last week, suffering their first loss of the season.

Mountain Brook remained undefeated on the season after racking up 284 yards rushing behind quarterback Strother Gibbs and running backs Daniel Wilbanks and AJ Gates. Wilbanks led the attack with 108 yards on 18 carries and scoring two touchdowns.

Rebels signal-caller Eli Sawyer finished the night 6-of-15 passing for 101 yards, and a few missed scoring opportunities prevented Vestavia from gaining on the Spartans on the scoreboard throughout the night.
