Vestavia Teen Killed In Trail Riding Accident

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A 16-year-old boy was killed Thursday night in a trail riding accident in a wooded area off Old Overton Road near Vestavia. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m.

The coroner’s office has identified the victim as Andrew Beck Patrick of Vestavia Hills.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the boy was thrown from the vehicle as it flipped over. He was pronounced dead on the scene. There were two other teenagers in the vehicle, but they were not injured, Money said.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
