VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Acknowledging the difficulty in teaching and working at its schools during the coronavirus pandemic, the Vestvaia Hills Board of Education approved a one-time $400 bonus payment for all teachers and staff.

The measure comes during "Thank Alabama Teachers Week," which Gov. Kay Ivey proclaimed to express appreciation for public education faculty, support staff, and school administrators.

Board members in the meeting affirmed the extraordinary work done by VHCS faculty and staff throughout 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
