Vestavia Celebrates Black History Month With A Music Legend

On February 23, Birmingham music legend Sam Frazier Jr will be at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - The City of Vestavia Hills is celebrating Black History Month with a Birmingham music legend. Sam Frazier, Jr. will be at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center February 23 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Frazier will discuss his life, career, and how he has stayed busy for all these years.

Growing up in the mining town of Edgewater just outside of Birmingham, Frazier became a part of Birmingham’s musical history as one of the best blues harmonica players in the country. He was the first black entertainer who appeared on the “Country Boy Eddie” show and did so for 14 years. He is in the Birmingham Records Hall of Fame and Alabama Blues Hall of Fame.
