Vestavia Doctor Indicted On New Child Porn Charges
A federal court filed a superseding indictment against Dr. Ronald Tai Young Moon on child pornography charges.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A superseding indictment was filed Thursday against a Vestavia Hills doctor charged with producing and possessing child pornography. The new indictment follows one filed in June against Dr. Dr. Ronald Tai Young Moon.
U.S. Attorney Jay E. Town and FBI Special Agent in Charge Johnnie Sharp, Jr. announced Thursday that three production counts have been added to the previous indictment, including two for producing child pornography in the 1990s, and one for producing child pornography in the early 2000s.
The superseding indictment also adds another charge for possessing child pornography in January 2019.

Each count of production of child pornography carries a penalty of 15 to 30 years in prison, and a maximum $250,000 fine. The maximum penalty for each count of possession of child pornography is 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Moon, 55, is a physical medicine doctor who practices at the Industrial Athlete, located at 820 University Boulevard in Birmingham.
